Living with the Nintendo DS

Short Description: The Nintendo DS has just been released in the UK. The DS is a slick new handheld gaming system with two screens and innovative screen input, and it wasn’t hard to find volunteers to playtest the early units we had obtained.

Content Inside: Living with the Nintendo D My life with the Nintendo DS: An epic tale of technology, playability and user impatience. The last feature I was most curious about, as Super Mario 64 DS is a rehash of Super Mario 64, made for Nintendo’s first 3D console, the Nintendo 64 (N64).

Review of Recent Video Game Release

Review of Recent Video Game Release

Short Description: Review of Recent Video Game Release SUPER MARIO GALAXY, MASS EFFECT, CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE

Content Inside:
`SUPER MARIO GALAXY'
For: Nintendo Wii
From: Nintendo
ESRB Rating: Everyone (mild cartoon)
One of the most telling things one can say about "Super Mario Galaxy" is that Nintendo has delivered a game that's a bigger joy to play upside-down than most games are right-side-up.

`MASS EFFECT'
For: Xbox 360
From: Bioware/Microsoft
ESRB Rating: Mature (blood, language, partial nudity, sexual themes)
Of the many huge games to release this fall, none come bigger than "Mass Effect," a multi-genre space epic so ambitious as to intimidate even seasoned gamers and push a seemingly powerful gaming console to the brink of its comfort zone.

`CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE'
Reviewed for: Xbox 360 and Playstation 3
Also available for: PC
From: Infinity Ward/Activision ESRB Rating: Mature (blood and gore, intense violence, strong language)
Another year, another "Call of Duty." On a few levels, that's all you need to hear, for reasons both good and bad. After handing the reigns to another developer for "Call of Duty 3," Infinity Ward is back in the driver's seat for the sequel, and its fingerprints are all over "Modern Warfare."

Content Inside: III. Enter the Wii: Changing the Concept with New Game-Play, New Consumers, New Approach. New Consumers: After realizing its past mistake when aiming for a younger audience, Nintendo set out to remedy this: the appeal of the Wii console goes, as a matter of fact, far beyond the “regular” target age groups 7 and enters a whole new dimension.
