BlackBerry Personal Information Management FAQ

BlackBerry Personal Information Management

Short Description: “PIM” stands for Personal Information Management records such as contacts and calendar entries. “Sync” is synchronization for short. “PIM Sync” allows “BlackBerry for Individuals” users...

Content Inside:
1. Synchronize Contacts / Calendar records on BlackBerry smartphone with those on PC
OUTLOOK; and
2. Backup & restore Contacts / Calender records on a BlackBerry smartphone in case of lost or changing new phones, through a “PIM Sync” account hosted on our server.

Remarks: If you are using work email with “BlackBerry for Enterprise” or “BlackBerry
Professional Software”, you may not need PIM Sync as wireless Contacts/Calendar sync is generally already built-in.

Can I synchronize my BlackBerry’s “Address Book” with that on BlackBerry website?
Ans: No. The “PIM Sync” service is hosted under a different server. (BlackBerry “Address Book” support on web page is only available in older release of “BlackBerry for Individuals”).
